43rd Annual Irmo Okra Strut Festival

The Okra Strut had its humble beginnings as a fundraiser by the Lake Murray - Irmo Women’s Club to raise money for a new library. Today, it is the largest and longest running celebration of okra in the United States. Friday, September 23rd: 5:00 PM-11:00 PM: STREET DANCE FEATURING OUR HEADLINE ENTERTAINMENT MUSICAL GROUP (TBA). Saturday, September 24th: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM: THE OKRA STRUT PARADE - SOUTH CAROLINA'S LARGEST PARADE! Saturday, September 24th: 12:00 NOON - 5:00 PM: MUSICAL & VARIETY ENTERTAINERS, CARNIVAL RIDES, OKRA EATING CONTEST, ARTS & CRAFTS VENDORS, CHILDREN'S FUN & GAMES AND LOTS OF FESTIVAL FOOD THE ENTIRE WEEKEND! Free parking and shuttle service available.
