Receptionist
Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact and the welcoming face of the Central SC Alliance, creating a positive and professional impression for our visitors, investors, and partners. This role is responsible for managing front desk operations, greeting and assisting guests, and ensuring smooth daily office functions. The Receptionist provides administrative support to team members and helps maintain an efficient and organized workplace. This position is fully office-based and includes responsibilities for opening and closing the office each day.
Accountability
This position reports directly to the President & CEO.
Compensation
Salary: $40,000 annually, plus state benefits and a competitive benefits package.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Office Suite Management
Serve as the office suite safety representative, ensuring staff are informed of building and management updates.
Oversee the efficient operation of office equipment, including copiers, phones, security systems, and IT resources.
Act as the primary liaison with vendors for equipment, supplies, and office-related services.
Administrative Support
Provide direct administrative support to the President & CEO, including assistance with grant funds, accurate recordkeeping, and preparation of quarterly reports for the SC Department of Commerce.
Manage the President’s calendar and coordinate scheduling for the office’s conference and meeting spaces.
Staff & Organizational Support
Assist Central SC Alliance staff with administrative needs as required.
Support correspondence and meeting coordination for the President, Board of Directors, and investors.
Maintain accurate contact information, event details, and organizational records within the CRM database.
Assist with planning and execution of special projects and organizational events.
Monitor and manage office supply inventory and related needs.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with staff, investors, and external partners.
Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing deadlines.
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a willingness to assist colleagues.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.
Customer service mindset with a positive, professional, and energetic demeanor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree in business administration, office management, communications, or related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 4 – 5 years of administrative, receptionist, or customer service experience in a professional office environment required.
Prior experience supporting senior leadership, coordinating schedules, and managing office operations preferred.
Experience working with CRM databases and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
Experience in a non-profit, economic development, or professional services organization a plus.
PHYSICAL & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
Availability to support occasional after-hours events.
Professional appearance and demeanor required.
Successful completion of a background check and credit check.
