Request for Proposal: Accounting and Consulting Services

Subject:  Accounting and Consulting Services Request for Proposal 

Introduction: 

The Columbia Chamber is located at 1225 Lady Street, Suite 100, Columbia, SC 29201, and includes operations of the Columbia Chamber (a 501©6 organization) and Navigating from Good to Great Foundation DBA Riverbanks Foundation (a 501©3 organization). We are seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide comprehensive accounting and financial consulting services to support internal operations, board and committee reporting, compliance requirements, and ongoing process improvement. 

Project Overview: 

The Chamber is requesting proposals for professional accounting and consulting services. 

Services should include, but are not limited to: 

• Posting all transactions to the general ledger 

• Monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts 

• Recording of payroll entries and related allocations 

• Generating monthly financial statements and management reports 

• Budget-to-actual variance reporting 

• Deferred revenue and special event revenue tracking 

• Audit support and documentation preparation 

• Annual Form 1099 processing 

• Business personal property tax assistance 

• Support for lobbying/disclosure calculations 

• Financial consulting for budgeting, reporting, and modeling 

**All financial monthly reporting due by the 15th of each month. 

As-Needed Services: 

• Assist with annual budget preparation and input into accounting software (FY 9/1-8/31) 

• Offer consulting on business personal property tax matters, intercompany transactions, and lease calculations 

• Support reporting needs related to lobbying disclosures and deductible portions 

• Provide additional consulting on expense allocations, report formatting, and financial modeling 

Vendor Information: 

With your Request for Proposal response, please include the following: 

• Company Name and Overview - Background, size, location, and areas of expertise, including primary contact information 

• Team Qualifications – Key personnel bios and relevant nonprofit experience 

• Approach – Description of how the firm will fulfill the scope of services 

• References – At least three nonprofit clients 

• Technology Preferences – QuickBooks Online and/or other platforms used 

• Summary of Approach – Summary of approach to monthly and annual deliverables including examples of financial reports or dashboards used for board reporting (may redact identifying data) and

The Organization reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to request additional information or clarifications from any or all respondents.  Chamber investment is required.
